Barbara Bio Photo Header

Barbara Saylor founded Capitol B in 2008, as a blog dedicated to covering the DC social and charity scenes, the local retail community, and a host of other personal interests. With a creative vision and solid plan, and a corps of contributing writers, community support, and established readership, Barbara relaunched Capitol B in 2009, as an online magazine that would provide quality content in areas of style, beauty, arts and entertainment, green living, and philanthropy.

Prior to branching out on her own, Barbara was an account executive at a boutique PR firm in DC. Her background includes the not-for-profit sector, where she staffed the development and communications departments of several organizations.

Barbara is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, where she teaches in the PR and Corporate Communications department of the Master of Professional Studies Program. An active member of the local and national philanthropic communities, Barbara has served on the Boards of Directors of Calvary Women’s Services and Animal Charities of America, and on the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s ACTION! Advisory Committee, working to diversify the business side of the entertainment industry. She resides in Alexandria, Virginia with two very spoiled kitties.

Jason Bio Photo Header

Son of a southern preacher, Jason narrowly escaped the ministry by moving to Washington, DC at a young age. As a teenager, Jason took to technology and began his career in the IT field. Early on, Jason juggled a career in IT with professional modeling, working for agencies in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Milan. His impeccable style and fashion sense come from the thousands of hours spent in the lines of casting calls and backstage at fashion shows – and from all those girlfriends who thought he was a Ken doll.

The athletically inclined Jason can often be found running down Wisconsin Avenue, in yoga class, or biking the trails surrounding the city. When not in gym shorts, wearing sneakers, or shirtless, he can be found properly attired at one of the many charity events he supports, or out and about in the Washington social scene. Jason works in the technology department of a government contractor and offers independent consulting for the tech-challenged. He lives in Glover Park with his house plant “Ginny” and also loves cupcakes.
